The First Cut Is The Deepest

I'm so looking forward to Bullingdon Boys first party conference in power. Nearly as much as the comprehensive spending review which will follow shortly afterwards.

Still, it's good to know we're all in this together.

Maybe they should adopt this as their new theme tune.

PP Arnold - The First Cut Is The Deepest.

I'd like to think that I was representing the blog boys and girls at the demo yesterday, birmingham being easy for me, although it would be good to know if anyone else was there. As we got to the point at the end of broad street with the NIA back behind several large steel gates and a few hundred police officers stood chorus line style there were two three piece suited chaps with Conservative Home ID tags who must have gone for the most ill advised swift half trying to make there way back. The Direct Action movement tried to start the revolution but all 25 of them were surrounded by about a hundred officers within seconds who then kept them kettled in for the next two and a half hours. Police estimate 6,000 to 7,000 people which normally would suggest getting on for 20,000 but I have a feeling their estimates have become more accurate. A good time was had by all.

Norma Whitfield does a great reggae take on this - I've been meaning to blog it for ages

Mondo - I was in 2 minds whether to post the Norma Fraser version.

Adam - glad to see some people aren't just sitting back and letting it happen. You need to get blogging again!

Seems like all I'm discussing are cuts, at home and at work (public sector; we should be used to it, there's been nothing but squeezed budgets in my particular field for a few decades now. How they think they're going to chop at least 25% of us I don't know, not without causing severe problems for the future). I feel like it's 1985 all over again.

Scary.

Bloody Trots: Thatcher'd have had the water cannon on the lot of you.

PS: Boris had the best hair even then.
