Now it Feels Like Christmas!

We've had about 4 inches of snow here today which is still lying, yipee.

I took the day off, went into Glasgow and finished my Christmas shopping. I am now in the festive spirit and thus will post probably the most miserable seasonal song I own. I have a certain Mr Peel to thank for bringing this song to my attention quite a few years ago now. One night while I was wrapping presents he played this and I got over emotional, it must have been the rum.

BTW - Has anyone tried Crabbies Alcoholic Ginger Beer?  It is the business.

Thanks for the Crabbies tip Drew. I was looking at it t'other day contemplating if it was another 9 day wonder. On your fully qualified say so, I will now imbibe.

Reminds me, as I trudged through the snow, another of my favourite pubs closed its doors this week.

As a fellow once said about 80 years ago ......

"When you have lost your inns, drown your empty selves; for you will have lost the last of England".

(Or Scotland, or Wales or Ireland etc).

I think he was spot on.

Yes, I tried some of that Crabbies - it tasted dangerously lke non alcoholic ginger beer I thought. So be careful out there!

I got dreams to remember.

PS: We're hoping for six inches tonight.

DVD - you're right about the state of pubs in this country.

I worked in a pub for years, the best pub in the town, not because I worked there, well maybe partly but mostly because the owner and the previous owners cared about it. When he sold it, the new owners decided to change the bar and upgrade the place. Getting rid of a beautiful piece of solid wood and replacing it with shit. They also managed to rip the soul out of the place. Now it is just one of not so many (now) pubs in the town and the beer isn't half as good as it used to be, I have my suspicions that they renewed the pipes when they were at it.

Mr H - dreams to remember, indeed.

Mr H - aren't most people!

Although if we're talking snow, you southern softies grind to a halt with a slight flurry.

Oh I do hope so.

Let it snow let it snow let it snow, then I can't get into work and Christmas starts early!!

And then I might just try some of that Ginger Beer. Maybe with some whisky chasers to keep warm...

Simon - We drink whisky and Crabbies Green Ginger Wine up here when we have a cold, if the ginger beer and chasers have the same effect your onto a winner.

If you got snowed in, would that mean a few more posts?

chocolategirl64, never tried Sailor Jerry but you've given mew an idea, Pussers and alcoholic ginger beer, now that would be a dark and stormy.

Sorry for the schoolboy humour (hangs head in shame)
