I reckon you will either scrape through 1 nil or they will play outt of their skins and win 3 or 4 nothing with Rooney and Gerard being absolutely outstanding.
The joy of playing and the innocent fervour I possessed as a kid has long gone, and I view most of the top players with contempt. That doesn't stop me hoping that the SHIRT wins the day.
And - yes, I do expect them to progress today. I say that based on the fact that they have better individual footballers. Not better people, or a better attitude, or a better outlook, or even a better TEAM. Just better professional players with a huge infrastructure behind them and a life where they want for nothing.
More importantly, I also expect that should they fail to progress from their Group, the game in England will be even more fucked than it is now.
The game at 'grass roots' level (not Wembley's grass obviously) will take a significant hit. Historic clubs will continue to fall into administration, and die by the wayside, attendances may well fall and kids will spend even more time on the Playstation than in the park.
'We'll fight until the whistle blows' seems to have taken on a new slant by the current crop.
And 'We'll give all we've got to give for the folks Back Home' - is seemingly not too high on the agenda.
I still have that Scotland top and the tracksuit top to go with it...aaaah! SFA - such memeories, actually I still have an Argentina 78 Scotland enamel badge too! Crazy the things I still have after travelling across the world. Lost all my sodding records and posters mind you! Found a photo of the Anarchy In The Tour poster for the Glasgow Apollo the same as I had, will put it up at 'Exile' tomorrow. There wasn't that many of them in the Apollo and of course the gig got cancelled! Regards/

I can see me spending a lot of money on this site.
If you haven't already checked it out, the PLan B album is probably the best thing this year apart from the Fall of course.
England expects .. too much, I suppose.

Yeah, world beaters again. I think it took the commentators all of 90 seconds to say " you know, I think we can go all the way".
nae chance, it'll be the German's on Sunday, so that's the English out on penalties...
Not sure we'll take them to penalties
We've got past all the mighty teams in the group stage, now for the easy bit......
