The only problem with this brilliant remix is that it takes far too long for the beat to come in and then it's all over too soon. But that is probably why I love it so much, the anticipation of what's to come.

It's Friday . . Let's Dance

As you may have realised by now as I have mentioned it a few times that what got me back into dance music during the latter part of the last decade was dubstep. From the first time I heard Burial and the sounds being released on the Skull Disco label I was hooked.

The music has evolved over the past few years with some really original  material being produced by the likes of Skream, Joy Orbison, Benga and a host of others.

One of the most consistent producers on the housier side of this genre of dance music over the past year is Pearson Sound, aka Ramadanman, alias Maurice Donovan or to his family and friends David Kennedy.  He hasn't just released some of the best tunes that I've heard recently but also the best mix cd of the past ten years in his Fabriclive 56 compilation.

Here is side two of his recent release on the Night Slugs label under his Pearson Sound guise. The track is a refix of Deep Inside by Hardrive originally released on Strictly Rhythm in 1993 with vocals from Barbara Tucker.

I'm in a right dubstep mood at the moment. What with the Four Tet releases and also the new Burial twelve which Dougie the Postie dropped in this evening and which is truely the canine's gonads it's been a good week for this type of music. If you take into account the Shackleton releases and a few other things it's actually been a belting start of the year.

Here is another great twelve released the other week. Koreless is a seriously talented, if this release is anything to go by nineteen year old, yes nineteen, from Glasgow. It was released by Pictures Music in a limited run of 300. There are only 2 tracks on the twelve and the running time of both is a little short at slightly over seven and a half minutes but here it is quality over quantity. I have opted to post MTI the slightly longer track on the flip side.

Today's track comes courtesy of a remix project being performed on the material of Mount Kimbie. The track is lifted from the second remix 12" and is a rather lovely techno mix of Vertical which actually compliments last week's posting rather well.

Mount Kimbie, recently released their first album which is well worth picking up. They have been branded as dubstep in the music press, however their music has a lot more to it than what that tag brings to mind.

Give it a go, you'll like it, trust me.
