Fourteen Years

Fourteen years ago this very day I was standing in a Registry Office in Lanark, rather nervously saying I do despite the couple of swift Laphroaig's I had in The Cave on my way there.

Then we went down the clyde valley and had a rather splendid do and purvey.

This one's for L for putting up with me for what seems like no time at all to me but probably a lot longer to her.

Being born and growing up in west central Scotland does not make one the most demonstrative or romantic person in the world.  Coupled with the fact that I think that celebrating St Valentine's Day is on a par with celebrating Adolph Hitler's birthday, which just happens to be the same day as a good friend of mine's, hence why you never get a present T; I was in two minds whether to post something lovey dovey today.

But then again why miss a chance to play the most romantic and beautiful song I possess.

This Friday it's time for a couple of mid tempo northern soul tunes.

First up is my second favorite Northern tune ever, Just Loving You by Ruby Andrews.There are only two words to describe this tune, absolutely and gorgeous; nothing else needs to be said.

Now for a bit of blue eyed soul. Bobby Paris is well known on the northern scene with the tracks Night Owl, Personally and this track, which I think is his best.

Not a lot in the way of information on these tracks but when the songs are this good you don't need me pontificating about them.
