However, I don't share Drummond's view, I love the track and it's one of the two tunes that made the purchase of the album worthwhile, well and the fact that the money raised was going to help children caught up in the conflict in the Balkans.

Soothing Sounds For A Sunday

There are certain cds that I ask myself, why did I buy this on cd rather than vinyl, today's track comes from a case in point.

The White Room was released in 1991 and most of the other stuff from that year I bought on vinyl. I was living in Woodlands Road in Glasgow at the time, not far from Byres Road and my favourite shop in the world then, Fopp so I have no idea why I opted to buy it on an inferior format.

About ten years ago my copy of the White Room finally gave up the ghost and refused to play on any player, so the hunt began to replace it, the problem being that the cd was by then out of print and second hand copies were costing a fortune. Eventually I had to bite the bullet and buy an American import which is slightly different from the UK copy in that some of the samples have been omitted as the US label was obviously scared of being sued by Bonzo and the audience for sampling the crowd noise from Rattle & Hum.

All the above is a preamble to the apology that the version of No More Tears posted is the shortened 6 minute version available on the US release oppossed to the nine and a half minute version found on the UK release.

Today's track comes courtesy of my latest haul from Oxfam music on Byres Road. Somebody had obviously got sick and tired of the sounds of Mu as there was a job lot of mint KLF twelves all going for a song at 99p each. So I treated myself to 3 that I didn't already have.

There is not a lot for me to add to the myths/facts already published elsewhere regarding the inventors of "Stadium House".

3 AM Eternal was the second single from the KLF and originally came out in 1989, can you believe that it was 20 years ago! The version posted comes from the 1990 remix 12inch and is mixed by the Moody Boys (Tony Thorpe)and is typically spaced out and dubby,  not a million miles away from something the Orb would produce.

What Special Relationship?

Is it not about time that we stopped caring about what the good old US of A thinks about us and just get on with being the UK and part of Europe?

As the only Royle that matters, Jim, would say "Special Relationship, My Arse!"
