There hasn't been much in the way of 60s soul round here recently and therefore not much in the way of ill informed history regarding that type of music. So here is a brilliant piece of up tempo soul from a band that I know nothing at all about. Number One Fool is the flip side to Funky Chicken, the only release by The Fabulous Emotions that I know of which doesn't go for much to be honest. This song is basically the a-side with added vocals which for me at least make it the superior track.

Haven't heard of The Fabulous Emotions either, but that song's a cracker. It's a helluva lot better than "Funky Chicken". Wonder if the latter came before the Rufus Thomas song "Do The Funky Chicken"?
