It is hard to believe that this was released that long ago, as to these ears it still sounds as gloriously epic as it did the first time I heard it. It has not diminished one little bit. Here is the 12" version with parts 1 & 2 together.

This is on the soundtrack of my life.
As you said epic song.
Really 30 years ago? And it stood the test of time. Great song, indeed
Oh boy, I sure am old
Mammoth moment in time.
On the rattler home tonight I heard this on my ears ..
Played v loud, it's a wall of sound that reminded me a bit of the mighty Wah! What do you think? ...

As Sal Paradise said 'the city intellectuals are divorced from the realities of the land'. Or something like that. Can't remember the exact bit.
Sorry we missed out tonight.
Great record. How can anything like this be 30 years old? When we were listneing to this 30 years old was the early 1950s and the Second World War was less than 20 years finished. I mean, uh?
We just have to come to terms with the fact that we are now old gits and it's all downhill from here on in.
20 years. I meant 10 obvs. I was befuddled by wine.
Wow! I was watching this on YouTube a few weeks back. Must be something in the air. Great song.
I remember years back listening to Pete Wylie being interviewed on the radio on night, and falling a wee bit in love with him, because he had me in tears laughing. Beautiful!
Those were the days.....
