Forest Fire

Haven't really got much to say about this track apart from it is up there with Another Girl Another Planet  and That Summer Feeling in the emotions that it evokes in me and isn't that guitar in the last minute one of the best sounds you ever heard?  A sound that later,  Deacon Blue would base a whole career around.

I'm pretty sure that this was the first single off of the debut album Rattlesnakes. It was definitely the first time that I had heard of the band.

It was the 2nd, Perfect Skin paved the way. Rattlesnakes is one of my all time favourite albums, and this is one of my all time favourite songs, if you were to really push me. It's the doo doos in the middle, and that guitar solo, that almost sings the song. SO beautiful.

rattlesnakes was played constantly by just about everyone I knew back then:
soundtrack to my life!

I rediscovered Crocodiles this week:
my 14 y/o daughter laughs at me knowing all the lyrics and singing along in the car: tsk:
then blow me they played some Bunnymen on Ashes to Ashes this Saturday:
she even recognised McCullochs voice: ha

Bittersweet brilliance but I have to handle with care, it turned out that I wasn't ready to be heartbroken.

Artog/Simon - I think us people of a certain age will all have heartbreak memories of this album. I had a friend who had a rather lovely older cousin who had a 2CV, Ah!

Choco - you have taught her well.
