The Best Track Of The Nineties?
Hyperbole? Possibly, but you will have to come up with one hell of a compelling argument to make me change my mind.
This track has been posted here before and across countless blogs over the years, however I think that it should get an airing at least once a year just in case there are people who are still unaware of the sheer bliss that the 9:14 minutes of this track invokes in me and thousands of others. In the words of John Peel, "Even if they never made another record, they'll have achieved more than most of us do in our entire lives."
I managed to pick up another pristine copy of this 12" a couple of months ago for a quid in a charity shop, I felt so guility that I gave them another 4 quid.
Not a bad way to start off the working week.

Groovetastic.
Although the best track of the 90s is 'Unfinished Sympathy' by Massive Attack, obvs.
An outstanding track. Joyous!
You may think that Mr H, amazing though that track is, you would, however be wrong.
You are all wrong. Halcyon+on+on obv
In any event the Irresistible Force mixes improve on the original.
No they don't Ctel
Are you just posting this in a vain attempt to generate replies? Or not so vain, as I've responded. But it's not track of the 90s. It just isn't.
Around the time Peel died I was chatting with my mates about our favourite Festive Fifty tracks and I introduced them to this, which they had somehow missed. Always good to see it getting some more love. Thanks!
No George I am giving my considered opinion.
Great track, hadn't previously included it in my short list though...for me the three, cause I cant just pick one, would be:
Unfinished Sympathy - Massive Attack
Missing - Everything But The Girl
Love & Happiness - River Ocean
A genuinely strange (but great) record, you just don't get records like this anymore-even slightly odd tunes these days seem a bit contrived.
