That is sad, and quite unexpected. Gil played at the tiny college I attended in the middle of nowhere in the early nineties. Lords knows there was fuck all else to do but I didn't walk the 100 yards from the bar to hear him. I was an idiot at college and no mistake.
MP3 files are posted for a limited time so people can make up their mind if they want to buy vinyl and/or cds from artists who in my opinion are worth listening to.
If you have any objection to these sample tracks being posted then email me and I will take them down which would be a shame as other music obsessives may remain ignorant of these great tracks

NOOOOOOH! Just heard this from you. Very, very sad, especially since he seemed to be hitting a new creative peak.

Very sad news. Last year's I'm New Here was easily one of the best of 2010. R.I.P. Gil.
I didn't pick up a newspaper or watch telly news all weekend and this is the first I've heard this.
Sitting at my desk at work feeling quite numb and very sad. I'm with Scott that the 2010 LP was excellent.
JC - it was really sad news.
The 2011 collaboration with Jamie xx is also brilliant.
