Deceived

Very little is know about this track or the artist that recorded it. Deceived was the flip side of the 1966 single Feminine Ingenuity released on Gold Token Records out of Los Angeles in 1966. It was first aired on the Northern scene in the mid to late 1980s and if you were looking to buy a copy of this lovely bit of soul it would set you back upwards of £600.

Boy, this has Drew written all over it. Spectacular. Is this one you used to hear on the dance floor during your scooter trips?

Great rhythm, almost rocksteady!

Thanks for this , a new one on me. Nothing to find on Ruby. An interesting mix of classic mid Sixties instrumentation which has a definite Northern feel but as The Swede says a rocksteady type beat so is not what I would say is definitive Northern. Was this an end of evening play at Northern nights?

I don't remember it being played at any of the dances I went to my first encounter with it was on the For Millionaires Only Vol 2
