The Southern States of the USA don't have a monopoly when it comes to singing about disappointment in relationships.

Well when you consider where the people in the South come from (almost exclusively with one big exception...that turned out to be more of a cosmetic exception anyway)...it's never been a shock to me that of all the people outside of Dixie, t'North, Scotland and Ireland have gotten it down better than anybody else.
