Mellow Sunday
It's L's birthday today, happy birthday doll. We were out last night so are probably a bit delicate this morning. Here is a lovely cover version that I think is far superior to the original and I love that.
I hope you and yours had a nice evening. That's a mighty fine cover. This will probably come as a shock, but Modern English had a song in 2010 (yes, 2010) that was quite good.
I used to vaguely know Modern English around the 'Drowning Man'/'Swans on Glass' period, when a couple of the members hung around in the record shop I was working in at the time. I lost touch with them and their music soon after though, so I don't know 'I Melt With You', but I do very much like Nouvelle Vague and their performance of this song. Hope you had a lovely evening.
I prefer this to the original as well, but then I'm a sucker for Nouvelle Vague! As for Modern English, I bought (and loved) the Mesh and Lace album at the time but didn't get any further - I don't think I'd like it now... Happy birthday to L too!
